The existing building at 827-829 Boylston Street is approximately 4,600 sf. on the ground floor level. The building housed retail and residential space. The project combined two existing spaces by removing a masonry bearing wall and opening the two spaces as one. Structural beams and columns were designed to support the five-story building above.
All new electrical and mechanical work was completed with the addition of updated finishes and terrazzo flooring. Due to the shops entrance at a lower level, a platform lift was installed for wheelchair accessibility.
